About Matthew London

Matthew London is a photographer, publisher, filmmaker, philosopher and human being.

Born in Palo Alto, California and based out of New York City for the past 10 years, Matthew has spent decades living and traveling throughout Asia, including time in China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, India and Nepal.

He loves the alchemy of photography and finding beauty in simple things. For the past 25 years he has started each day with a pot of puerh tea.

In 1990 he co-founded EDEN INTERACTIVE, an interactive multimedia software company which produced the award winning AMERICAN VISIONS, the first software to be reviewed in Scientific American.

He is also the producer and co-cinematographer of MYSTIC BALL, a multi-award winning feature length documentary film about a non-competitive dance-like sport from Myanmar.

In 2010 he launched TIGER SPRING PRESS, an independent publishing company to develop photographic books and exhibitions which celebrate profound aspects of the world’s cultures. When he is not making photographs he enjoys cooking for friends and journeying to the Amazon jungle to partake in entheogenic rituals.

He is married to the Chinese flâneuse and philosopher, Sylvia Xiaorui Wen (温晓锐).
